Fox Ridge Nature Park in Knox County Indiana

General Info

Fox Ridge Nature Park is a Knox County Indiana Park and is located at 1364 N. Hillcrest Road, Vincennes, IN 47591.

Fox Ridge Nature Park is a part of the former Fox Ridge golf course. This 95-acre piece of property was converted to public use as a nature park in early 2015. The purchase of the property was paid for in part by Indiana's Bicentennial Nature Trust grant project and development efforts are ongoing as part of a federal Land and Water Conservation Fund grant. The focus of the Fox Ridge Nature Park is to allow the public a space for passive recreation, which means walking and hiking, bicycling, fishing and exploring the natural world that inhabits the park. My visit

Sadie and I headed to Vincennes for Hike #22! The reason why we chose this park might be obvious if you've seen the pics. It has rained and rained and rained! I feel like it might be my fault because I did take PTO this week. The week was supposed to be Sadie's High School graduation week. She's still finished with school, but the ceremony has been put off until July. Anyway, to get back on the subject, this park has paved trails.

This park used to be a golf course, so the paved trails used to be the golf cart paths. There are some steep hills on the back side of the park (I'm sure they were fun in a golf cart), so it made for a good workout. To call this a "hike" might be a bit of a stretch, but it was a nice walk, and our feet stayed dry and mud-free! There were also some nice wildflowers along the path. Scroll down to see the pics!
