Fowler Park in Vigo County Indiana

General Info

Fowler Park is a park managed by Vigo County in Indiana. It is located at 3000 E Oregon Church Rd  in Terre Haute Indiana.

Inside Fowler Park are two lakes, a campground, picnic shelters, playgrounds, trails, a covered bridge and a pioneer village with a working gristmill. Fowler Lake, 25.9 acres, has a boat launch, a beach for swimming. The lake is stocked with largemouth bass, bluegill, redear sunfish, channel catfish and black crappie. The second lake is located on the west side of the park hidden behind the hillside. This is also where the park’s trails are located. Find out more information on Facebook by clicking here.

My visit

This visit we explored the trails on the west side of the park. The trails are numbered, but I honestly can’t make heads or tails of the numbers! There are several access points to the trails along the main paved road on the west side of the park. The trails and the west lake are on the other side of a hill. We also strolled through the Pioneer Village. The Irishman Covered Bridge is being repaired, so I didn’t photograph it. I have taken many photos of it in the past though! There are several times throughout the year where the park opens up the cabins in the Pioneer Village. The park also has a Pioneer Days festival the first full weekend in October every year.
