2022 “Wabash Valley” Winter Hike at Shakamak State Park (Trail 1) in Jasonville Indiana 3/1/22
My Winter Hike:
The first day of March is the first day of meteorological spring, but the Spring equinox isn't until March 20. So technically, this hike on Trail 1 at Shakamak State Park is a winter hike. The day definitely felt like spring though. Tracy and I were both over-dressed and ended up getting too warm; however, the hike was worth the suffering!
Trail 1 is the longest trail at Shakamak, and I think it's the oldest (I'm not positive of this). This trail gives you a fantastic view of Lake Shakamak. Tracy and I logged 3.9 miles. This is the longest hike we've done since Fall of 2021, so we were tired. Avoiding all of the mud just added to the exhaustion! Scroll down to see the pics and videos from this hike.
